Mercedes-AMG presents the preliminary edition of the SL 63 4MATIC+ roadster, designed to celebrate the end of last year's Formula 1 season. Its appearance refers to the design of the Mercedes-AMG F1 W13 E PERFORMANCE racing car. A racing machine competing in the top class of motorsport, a solution, among others, for the gradation of shades of metalized paint, from high-tech silver to obsidian black. Further highlights include a pattern on the sides of the car and contrasting PETRONAS color side accents on the front bumper, side skirts and diffuser coverage. Corresponding to these are the rims of 21-inch forged AMG rims with ten sections and a matte black finish. The cover of the electrically operated soft roof is also kept in classic black.

The SL 63 Motorsport Collectors Edition is all show without any extra go, so it uses the same twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8, which makes 585 horsepower (430 kilowatts) and 800 Newton-meters (590 pound-feet) of torque. It's enough AMG muscle for 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.6 seconds and a top speed of 196 mph (315 km/h).
