Opis vozila
One press of the start button, and the mighty Aston Martin 6.0 V12 awakens with a magically alluring roar.
Power. Beauty. Soul. This is what the Aston Martin brand represents. The DB9 is one of the most beautiful designs in automotive history, there’s no doubt about it.
A stunning and beautifully contrasting Kestrel leather interior, Tungsten Grey exterior. A perfect combination. This is a second-generation DB9, model year 2008, offering a range of desirable updates. One of them is the upgrade to the automatic gearbox. While the first-generation DB9 already had an automatic transmission well suited to its road character, 2008 brought an improved gearbox with faster gear changes, even smoother transitions, and a more natural driving feel. Add to that the increased power output, the updated dashboard, the Aston Martin 700w sound system, and, of course, the ultimate Glass Key, and you’ll understand why this particular DB9 is the one you want!
This DB9 also features front and rear parking sensors, clear rear lights, and beautifully finished silver-colored brake calipers adorned with the Aston Martin logo – all original.
Every DB9 boasts a chassis made entirely of bonded aluminum, the so-called ‘Vertical-Horizontal’ platform. At the time, this was a completely new platform, and it has since proven itself to be tried and tested: light, stiff, and durable. The delightful V12 engine, 5935cc in displacement. An extraordinary engine sound. The powerful rear haunches, the ventilation vents on the hood, the air intakes on either side… All functional, all stylish, all powerful. Don’t be mistaken; this design is now 20 years old, yet it still looks timeless!
And then there’s the drivetrain: a powerful, naturally aspirated V12 paired with the TouchTronic 2 gearbox – pure enjoyment! No heavy clutch as with a manual, and none of the drawbacks of a semi-automatic transmission. Yet, you have the beautiful paddle shifters mounted on the steering wheel, perfectly positioned. The sound when downshifting, simply glorious. British heritage, pure joy through and through.
If you’re looking for a true enthusiast’s car, you need to look beyond borders. There may be countries you prefer to avoid during your search, but there are also countries where you’d like to focus: Switzerland, Luxembourg, Japan… Typically countries where the true car enthusiast still exists, and where cars are treated with great care.
Similarly, in this case, the DB9 was originally delivered by Aston Martin Tokyo to its first owner and made its way to the Netherlands through the hands of enthusiasts.
When assessing a classic of this caliber, a realistic perspective is essential. The V12 ticks all the boxes here as well; one of the official dealerships in the Netherlands has taken care of all maintenance over the past year. When you entrust such a renowned company with full discretion, you can be sure that everything will be done to achieve the best results, and that has certainly been the case. All this work has been done to keep the Aston reliable and ready for the future. It’s an extensive list of tasks, many of which involve issues typically associated with this model. Spark plugs, coils? A costly job, everything has been replaced. Fuel pumps? Also addressed, to name just a few common DB9 concerns. Of course, invoices are available for inspection and will be provided with the handover of this exceptional Aston Martin.
The DB9 is my personal car. We have already enjoyed many great moments in it, such as during a roadtrip through England. With such major maintenance recently completed, it’s obvious that everything functions as it should, and there are no issues. It’s worth mentioning that the DB9 can now be driven as a Youngtimer, which means a more acceptable tax benefit for entrepreneurs who use the DB9 for business purposes.
The service booklet is included with the Aston. Invoices are attached, as well as an appraisal report. The key set consists of two original keys, also known as ECUs, including the Glass Key. One of the keys is fully intact, while the other shows some damage to the glass. Both function as they should.
As an additional note, you may have noticed that a Kenwood system has been installed for Apple CarPlay. Personally, I’m not typically fond of such systems, but in this particular case, I chose to keep it as is. Why? Simply put, when you spend a lot of time enjoying the car, a modern system is incredibly convenient. Navigation, music, communication—all at your fingertips. It makes the DB9 much more practical and enhances the ease of use. Not a fan? No problem, the system can easily be reverted to its original state.
There’s so much more to say about this remarkable Aston Martin, but you’ll only truly get a sense of it when you see and drive the car. You are most welcome in Uden, and the coffee is ready.
